Hakone

On our way to Hakone.

The weather hadn't been too kind too us, it was raining when we did the circuit around Hakone. We didn't get to see much at all. Though I must say, the pirate ship looked a lot better coming in in the mist. Adds a sense of mystery don't you think?

We check into the ryokan in the evening and we were very very happy with our room. We had a private bath! We certainly didn't waste any time and got to it almost as soon as we got there. Hot soaks are heavenly and certainly one of life's musts. Onsens are addictive things and I suspect if everyone has a hot spring soak almost everyday, there would be less wars and more love in this world. There is something really uplifting bathing and cleaning and then soaking myself in really hot water that makes me a happy happy person.
Our very yummy dinner. There were so many dishes, and just when we thought there were no more, the lady brought in some tempura.
Overeating does strange things to us.

After that huge dinner we got back to our room and slept! Food coma! We woke up around near 10pm, had another dip in the hot spring and had some tea. It was fun.
We had another soak before breakfast. Our earliest meal of the trip at 820am. Boy, it was the the biggest breakfast meal I ever had.

We went to the Outdoor Sculpture Park before heading back to Tokyo. There was more sunshine than the day before but only briefly. No chances of great photos since the skies were so gloomy all the time.
