My Baby

Her sian face when she has to wait a little for us to get ready to go out.
Trying her best to entertain herself with a book while waiting for us. She loves her books, just likes them better if she has someone to read them with.

Most times she is happy and contented like this....

Other times, like times in the car seat, she is pissed off like this.

Lunch time is getting less messy now that more is getting into her mouth and that she seems to enjoy eating a lot more now.

Shoes

How do I convince my husband that a housewife like me, who barely is able to put herself together before heading out of the house needs a pair of shoes like these.....
or these
or these
or these

Caught!

It looks like someone is pointing a gun at her. She was caught playing with the tap again. She just can't help herself sometimes.

My Little Helper

She is helping me make pasta salad!

Putting in the peas into the pasta, and sometimes pausing to pop a few into her mouth. I wouldn't be too sure if there are any half eaten ones in that bowl.

She is forever curious with what I am doing in the kitchen. She demands me to bring her up there with me all the time. I am really considering with I should get one of those toddler helper things like FunPod, Learning Tower, or the Kitchen Helper . Problem with these things are, they are so bleeding bulky!

I can't always put her in the sink nor on the table top. It is an accident waiting to happen no matter how watchful and careful I am. With toddlers, they move fast and can be pretty unpredictable at times.

As much as I enjoy my times in the kitchen with her, having teatime, doing prep work, doing some washing, I do sometimes wish she is able to play on her own a little more. She doesn't seem to be attached too much to any of her toys, preferring instead to flip books now. Prefer it more if we can do it together. Yes, I am very very happy that she has taken to books in such a big way, but there are some times when I wonder why she doesn't really totally dig anything else. Now that I think about it, she does like her Happyland set though...

I suppose they will all grow up and want some kind of independence. I suppose that I should just enjoy the times now that she wants to just spend all her time with me, they do grow up fast you know :)

30mm 1.4

In line with sticking to my new year resolution, I have finally finally decided to get the Sigma prime lens already.

Enough of worrying about the cost! I will get it before CNY! I will bring my chunky DSLR and a couple of lens to New Zealand. Never mind that I have a squirmy, sometimes whiny, sometimes cranky and all the time active baby who needs almost constant attention.

Right now, I will go email the camera shop to get a quote on the lens. The last I know, it was about $650!

Hopefully The Husband reads this entry and go get it for me as a surprise!

Day 7- Flower Expo

How many adults does it take to keep and eye on on a baby on a swing?

The Floral Expo in Taipei is a big waste of time. Nothing special and really, oh so boring. She had fun at the playground and wide open spaces for her to run about.

\
The Expo outing was cut really short and we had some time on our hands. The rest did some last minute shopping and we headed to a cafe to have some coffee and something else to eat. The Little One is exhausted!
The madness that was Shilin. It isn't that bad since it was a weekeday, can't imagine how bad it would be if it was a Friday or Saturday night. She is showing her displeasure here. She wanted to run about but we couldn't let her do so because it was really too crowded.
We did get to NonZero after all! Missing the risotto already!

Gifts

The pressies on the left are all hers and the ones on the right are everybody else's.
Life is so unfair sometimes.

Resolutions

I promise to put aside more time for myself to read.
I will pick up my DSLR more and get outside and shoot!
Do more baking! I miss that!
Get part time help more often.

.... Generally more ME time less chores time.

Oh, and get her room done up already!

Day 6 - Back in Taipei

The view from our room is pretty decent. Just disregard all the construction that is going on just outside the window and look at the Pacific ocean. We had breakfast and went for a stroll near the beach. The windy was too strong for the baby's liking and so we abandon the idea of cycing went back to the room for a snooze before checking out. All except Nick went cycling. It was tough cycling in that kinda wind and someone had a fall!

This little card holder was given to The Little One at the lunch place we went to. Too bad the cafe we wanted to go to was closed! We could just look in forlornly.

Her aunt keeping her busy on the train. She is such a handful, they all decided to pretend to sleep, leaving me to my own devices.

Day 5 - Hualien and Taroko Gorge

Took a train to Hualien from Taipei. Was pretty scenic half the time.
Little monster getting restless in the train.

Yes! I can't resist and bought a Mai tai carrier!

Taroko Gorge. Since we didn't have the luxury of time, we hired a cab and got driven around the gorge really fast. Jumping from one sigh to another. I do wish it was at a more leisure speed.

Our attempt at trying to set the lantern was an epic failure. Too embarrass to talk about it anymore here. It was really windy (so you can guess why it is an epic failure) and cold, The Little One and I both have runny noses for a few days.

Day 4 Mao Kong

Her fed up face while waiting for the gondola up to Mao Kong. It is quite nice, but too crowded for my liking. Nice views, nice tea houses and the gondola trip up was scenic too.
Someone is so dead tired. Think he did laundry at the hotel til like 4am. Hahahahaha! The tea house we went to. I like the place.

Beef noodles! The noodles at this shop is out of this world! They have this steamed rice with rib, also very shiokadoos. See, The Husband is really happy and everyone is just eating and not talking.

Eating guava and shopping for shoes
